this is extremely confusing.
possible reasons:
1. Lucas admits he made a mistake
2. He is just ribbing Harrison
3. He is saying "FUCK YOU I CAN DO WHATEVER I WANT TO THESE MOVIES"
4. He doesn't get it and someone just gave him the shirt
i think 1-3 are all likely true.
imagine episodes 4-6, with solo completely replaced by jar-jar? jar-jar shoots first. jar-jar frozen in carbonite. jar-jar kisses leia. it would be sort of excellent, almost like an art film.

george lucas is as tall as bowie sitting down is as tall as jim henson crouching over, and standing about thirty feet behind them, because he is actually 17 feet tall and can only appear in publicity shots via forced perspective. this is why so many such shots appear in labyrinth.
